Happiness is...paning for gold where no assholes can bother you.

Most of them here looked as if 1939 was happening all over again, or shouting polska as if some loved one had just died, while crying into their vodka's.

Me and another lad told one of the Poles at work they were winning 2 -1, I'd love to have seen their face when they got home and switched the TV on lol.

I would really love to see Germany win this tournament.
I'm sick of every person I see wearing Brazilian tops, we should be supporting our European neighbours, and not a bunch of muppets from a shitehole in South America...

I'd love to see Germany hammer England in the final. Seen Brentwood ranting in the World Cup thread on SFI, "The only way Germany will win is by cheating and play-acting which they are so good at" what an arse. A German win on home soil would be great.

I'm surprised Brentwood gives a shit, after all an English team goes against his Britain fantasy, I'm surprised he's not calling for a Great Britain team that would include N.I......:D

According to Brentwood, the only reason the English football team exists is because it is an evil plot by Brit haters in FIFA & UEFA to promote English patriotism and destroy the Union, he's off his trolley. His latest rant on us is that because Braveheart was filmed in Ireland it was a project by the Irish government & Mel Gibson* to stir up trouble between the Scots and the English and destroy the Union. Not only that but all the Irish extras in Braveheart were also all Republicans.

*According to Brentwood Mel Gibson is an Irish Republican, why? Well Brentwood believes he was born in New York, and there's lots of Irish people there, so Mel must have some Irish in him, and by chance Mel's mystery Irish ancestors were all staunch Republicans who hated the English and wanted to destroy the Union:deadhorse

Anyway, the World Cup 2006 Nick-O-Meter finally started ticking tonight:

Police have arrested 300 people amid clashes in Dortmund ahead of the Germany-Poland World Cup match.
The violence started when police tried to arrest a number of fans, who then attacked officers and began fighting among themselves, police said.

Officers were then seen putting on body armour as tens of thousands of fans left the stadium after the game.

Police had earlier arrested up to 60 suspected Polish troublemakers, with the help of Polish officers.

Oh no, our that babbling dimwit has long treated us to a tedious lecture about a British football team before the world cup. It's actually quite amusing. I think I've driven him schizophrenic after all the times denouncing Britain. Now whenever anyone on the British forum starts talking about Wales..etc he lunges in with some comical sermon about the evils of "little" nationalism's..

Here he blames the film Braveheart & the influence of the "republican extra's" for the hatred that has arisen between the Scots & the English..:P

The most amusing thing about that utterly ****e film Braveheart is that it was filmed in the Republic of Ireland and used Irish extras (no doubt Republicans) but I suppose the Irish government has never had any interest in stirring-up ****e in Great Britain, has it?
:rofl

Mel's Irish ancestors came from Kerry, and his dad's family were from Pennsylvania (latter they moved to Chicago.) As far as Mel being an Irish republican, I don't know, but his dad is definately in that camp.

Plus consider this: Mel cast an Irishman in the role of Edward Longshanks. :D And in at least three movies Mel has portrayed the British as being subhuman violent monsters (The Bounty, Braveheart, and the Patriot.)

'The Patriot' what a great movie, I remember the reaction of the Brit press at the time, along these lines..... http://www.btinternet.com/~sc.i/hollywoods_racist.htm

I love this bit :D

We always play the villians, even when no amount of historical revisionism could place us at the scene of the crime. Did Steven Spielberg cast a German as the homicidal concentration camp commander in 'Schindler's List'? No, it was the Englishman Ralph Fiennes.

Are they saying that Spielberg was trying to place the blame on the English?
Does Brentwood have a job with the Daily Express? :D

The article itself ignores reality....

The 1996 biopic 'Michael Collins', for example, posing as a true story, simply invented scenes in which British troops machine gunned perfectly innocent Irish sports spectators,

So "Bloody Sunday-1920-" never happened?

Take it from someone who has visited Scotland, appreciates their culture and loves the place as much as England and considers them to be my fellow Britons in saying that Mel Gibson is a ****-stirring bastard who has caused a lot of trouble in this land. Basically, if the wretch ever dares to step foot on British soil again he should be arrested and locked-up for inciting hatred because that it what he has done with that grossly historicaly inaccurate BOLLOCKS film. :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :( :( :( :( :( :(
Guess who has had this subtle artistic difference with a certain film director..

I just hope they haven't peaked too soon and don't run out of steam in the quarters/semis. If England can play that badly and still win both games it leaves me feeling a bit worried. Apparently Rooney is starting tomorrow though, far too soon, so he could end up crippling himself and then they're f*cked for sure. I hope Larsson rips them to pieces.
