I am an Irishman, born in West Belfast 1968, who was taken out to New Zealand in the early 1970's by my family...(most of them have passed away ..)I have my own family now... two kids, great wife, but 21st century multicultural New Zealand is not a place that I feel comfortable living in ...the influx of Asian migrants since the '90's has changed this country irreperably...I am suffering it 'first -hand 'financially, my business (and other local businesses) have slumped as a result of Indian /Malaysian Labour gangs coming into the District and 'under-cutting' the market price....my business is basically screwed . (these s.o.b's have depressed the wages in the area as well)I could rant on about it... but I won't.
I have decided to come home to Ireland...I will wind the business up here later this year. Anyway, hello to you all !

Welcome and good luck with buisiness in Ireland, Buisiness is booming here in the south. And they are crying out for small to medium sized buisiness to start up here. better than the fickle multinationals anyway.
Welcome again ;) :irelandsm

Welcome FGF. :Eire
Nice to see some of the diaspora going back home. I'm sure your story isn't that unusual. The only welcome immigrants are Irish ones ;)
Enjoy your stay here

Hi there.
New Zealand is a lovely place.
Your just the type of men of substance that we need to halt the crisis when all the multinationals take off with out a word to pastures anew in China & Eastern Europe leaving us high & dry.......
Welcome...

Thank you all for the warm welcome....we are thinking to move near Galway City , possibly the Oranmore up to Athenrye area, as rental prices are similar to the area we are living in here in NZ. Much as I would love to come back to Ireland with a few hundred k to buy a property, that will not happen...so back to 'square -one' :violin lol!! I would rather live modestly in my land of birth , than get f***ked in the a** by these immigrants that have ruined the livelihoods of quite a few local ' good-guys'...and believe me, the NZ government has no intention of tightening NZ immigration policy in the near future...
