Do any of you have any opinion on the dominance of Munster spelling with regard the Irish language?

Yes, I think it's wrong.
There should obviously be an Ulster dominance as it is clearly the superior dialect :P

Surely Connacht should be in their with a shout?!

Also, I often wonder about the reform of the spellings. Changing certain aigh into ai for example. On the one hand, it's easier for pronounciation. On the otehr hand, it often masks the evolutions of words.

Yes, it's interesting to see how long words can be in Scottish Gaelic compared with their amputated equivalents as Gaeilge.
Of course, I understand it is to make it less daunting to learn but still.....

Are you talking about spelling or pronounciation here? I've never heard any Ulster person changning the spelling of "aigh" to "ai". Though I'll admit Connemara and Kerry Irish is the most romantic (albeit the most confusing when talking to someone from there.) Ulster and Leinster Irish is too anglicised for me but sure as long as you have a grasp of the language then it's alright.
